Redskins Already Continuing Ineptitude by Not Hiring GM Before NFL Draft
By Sean Facey

It's always one step forward, two steps back with the Washington Redskins, isn't it?
Things felt like they were moving in the right direction after Bruce Allen was fired, but after reports emerged that they plan to head into the NFL Draft without a general manager, it's abundantly clear that the Redskins are dead set on continuing their ineptitude.
Redskins now are planning to wait until after the draft to hire a general manager, per league sources. The team’s thinking is that it still has people in place for now, though anyone in the front office is in jeopardy after the draft and there will be more changes.

There is literally nothing to gain and everything to lose in doing this. They're essentially a ship heading into a maelstrom without a rudder or sails.
The draft is arguably the best place for the next general manager to start building a sustainable, quality team. But if they aren't afforded the opportunity to pick the players they desire, they're essentially starting the job with one hand tied behind their back.

Sure, the Redskins might be confident in the people they have in place at the moment, but if Allen's replacement has a certain scheme in mind for the team's future and none of the draft picks fit it, they've wasted their time. They'll have turned 2020 into a relatively meaningless season.
With Allen gone, the Redskins finally had a chance to make some meaningful changes to the way they function. However, this plan to wait on finding a replacement proves how directionless they are.
With Bruce Allen out, many expect the Redskins to promote within, possibly naming Eric Schaffer as GM. I am told that will not happen. #httr #Redskins @NBCSWashington

When 2020 produces more wasted draft picks and more losing football, they'll have nobody to blame but themselves.
