Redskins CB Josh Norman is So Bad He Almost Got Benched Today
By Michael Luciano

The Josh Norman era in Washington appears to be coming to a close, as the Redskins were expected to make one of their most high-profile players a healthy scratch for their game against the Detroit Lions. However, at the last second they changed their mind.
Update: Washington changed its mind today and decided to make CB Aaron Colvin inactive instead of Josh Norman, who now will be active against the Lions, per source.

Norman, who joined Washington after an All-Pro season with the Carolina Panthers in 2015, has been objectively awful this season.
Norman is ranked as the 106th best cornerback in the league by Pro Football Focus, which gave him a grade of just 47.2. When paired with the 111th best corner in the league in Fabian Moreau on the outside, even breakout performer Quinton Dunbar can't rescue this shoddy defense.

Quinton Dunbar - #1
Josh Norman - #106
Fabian Moreau - #111
There are 114 qualified CBs. Draw your own conclusions...
Washington could theoretically save quite a lump sum of cash if they part ways with Norman after this season, which seems likely.
Josh Norman has one year left on his contract after this season. Washington would save $12.5 million against the cap next season by cutting him.

Norman was supposed to play against his former Panthers’ team next Sunday. Now, maybe not. https://t.co/1eTo4AfVuE
Norman's All-Pro season with the Panthers in 2015 feels like it was ages ago. It's also starting to look like more of a flash in the pan. Maybe shaking up the lineup and giving players like rookie cornerback Jimmy Moreland more playing time will make the Redskins a smidgen more competitive.
