Redskins Reportedly Listening to Trade Requests for No. 2 Pick That Could Blow up the Draft
By Adam Weinrib
We have a pulse.
While it's long been assumed that the Washington Redskins' selection of Ohio State DE Chase Young was as safe as Joe Burrow heading from the Bayou to the Bengals, it appears the 'Skins are at least up for a discussion a few days before the dance.
Per reports, Washington is still more than likely going to take Young, but they're receiving a high volume of trade calls, and are at least listening to the scenarios proposed.
Unless it's a fringe team like the Lions or Giants looking to make a small-impact leap, Washington should be asking for the farm here -- a reverse RGIII scenario.
If no lower-tier teams are looking to change the game entirely (looking at you, Atlanta Falcons), there's certainly a boon to just keeping Young, an athletic super-freak who the 'Skins out-tanked the Giants head-to-head for the rights to.
Washington hasn't had an all-pro impact defender of this status in decades, so if they eventually decide the volume of time-wasting calls is too high and shut things down, we'll understand completely.
