Redskins DBs Josh Norman and Landon Collins Blast Giants GM Dave Gettleman for Being a 'Liar'
By Karl Rasmussen
Dave Gettleman has received a bit of flak for his lack of public comments following the team's decision to bench Eli Manning and promote Daniel Jones, and now some of his former players are calling out the GM.
Josh Norman, who played under Gettleman for the Panthers, and Landon Collins, who was with the Giants up until this offseason, both had some critical comments regarding their former GM, and (in classic "them" fashion) they did not hold back whatsoever.
Both players saw their tenure under Gettleman end rather messily. Back in 2016, Gettleman rescinded the franchise tag offer the Panthers had issued Norman, thus resulting in the cornerback joining the Redskins.
Similarly, Gettleman allowed Landon Collins to join the Skins, reportedly failing to reach out to the star safety before he inked his massive six-year deal.
Neither party was appreciative of the way Gettleman handled their respective contract situations, and they're voicing their displeasure with him following his latest failure to address Giants Nation.
Gettleman has been known to stray away his publicly revealed plans, as was evident with his recent decisions, most notably extending Odell Beckham's contract only to trade him a year later, and now throwing Daniel Jones into the fold just three weeks into the season, despite previously voicing his intentions not to do that.
Collins and Norman are sick of the lack of transparency from their former GM, and they have gone as far as to label him as a liar. Clearly there's some bad blood between the Redskins' defenders and Gettleman, and we doubt they're the only ones.
