VIDEO: Redskins Owner Dan Snyder Wishes Crowd 'Happy Thanksgiving' Before Ron Rivera Introduction
By Scott Rogust
The Washington Redskins have long been the image of incompetence in the NFL. That legendary dysfunction reared its ugly head throughout this season, resulting in the firing of head coach Jay Gruden and the worst record in the NFC. However, it appeared the Redskins were finally heading down the right path in hiring Ron Rivera as their new head coach this week. On Thursday afternoon, the team introduced Rivera and everything appeared to be going smoothly...until owner Dan Snyder walked up to the podium.
That's right, Snyder wished everyone a "Happy Thanksgiving" on Jan. 2. Unbelievable. Even Rivera couldn't help himself by letting out a hearty laugh.
Regardless of Snyder's flub, the future appears bright in Washington. They're on track to select Ohio State stud pass rusher Chase Young in the upcoming NFL Draft, and Rivera is bringing on Jack Del Rio as their new defensive coordinator.
Also, since holidays can just...happen whenever now, per Snyder, get ready for Halloween in February!
Please, Dan Snyder, don't screw this up for Ron Rivera like you butchered your sense of the calendar.
