Things just keeps getting worse for Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams.

After not being traded at the deadline, Williams ended his holdout and joined the team. There's still a lack of trust between Williams and Washington, and instead of getting him prepared to play, the Redskins have placed the Pro Bowler on the NFL's non-football injury list.

On the surface, Williams might not care. However, by placing him on the non-football injury list, the Redskins can keep him off their active roster without having to release him.

And they have the option to not pay him what he's owed for the 2019 season.

Williams already made it clear that he would never play for Washington again, and that definitely wasn't happening now that he failed a physical after feeling discomfort when putting on his helmet.

That's where the holdout started, as Williams believed he was misdiagnosed by the team's medical staff last year after being diagnosed with DFSP, a rare type of life-threatening cancer, because of a growth on his head.

Obviously, the two sides are not on great terms with each other, which is why it's so interesting that they didn't trade him when they had the chance.
