Redskins Reportedly Cut Veteran LB Mason Foster Right Before Training Camp

As the Redskins get ready to officially kickstart the 2019 campaign, one veteran linebacker has surprisingly been informed he's played his last game for the team.
On Tuesday morning, reporter Erin Hawksworth broke the news that Washington has released Mason Foster. This certainly feels like it came out of nowhere.

Foster was getting ready to begin his fifth season with the Redskins. Last year, he started all 16 games for the team, posting a career-high 131 total tackles. He added two interceptions, four pass deflections and two fumble recoveries.
The 6-1, 240 pounder spent the first four years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Redskins back in 2015. He was a standout middle linebacker for the team ever since he first arrived in D.C.
If the Mason Foster being cut rumors are true, saves 4 million in cap room. Making room for Trent/Scherff ?

At just 30 years of age, teams in need of some 'backer will help will surely pick up the phone to call Foster's agent. Expect him to land with a new team sooner rather than later.
