Redskins to Reportedly Release Veteran CB Josh Norman After Disastrous 2019 Season

Josh Norman parlayed his prolific All-Pro season in 2015 with the Panthers into a five-year, $75 million deal in Washington. Well, suffice to say, his tenure in the nation's capital has been a disaster.
After struggling to perform in the secondary, Norman was relegated to special teams duty, where he showed minimal effort, and was eventually benched.
Now, with one year left on his deal, the Redskins have decided to pull the plug early on Norman, and will reportedly release the veteran cornerback.

Despite a solid first year with the Redskins, during which Norman logged three picks, 19 pass breakups and 67 tackles, he failed to impress during the following three seasons.
The Redskins' patience with Norman has run out, and even having his former head coach Ron Rivera in town couldn't extend his stay in the nation's capital.

Kind of says a lot about what Rivera thinks of him, eh?
The Redskins will suffer a loss of $3 million via a dead cap hit, but are ultimately saving money, considering the veteran was due to earn over $15 million in 2020.
The 32-year-old will enter free agency coming off the worst season of his career in hopes that a team is willing to take a shot on him.
