Refs Make Correct Call and Award Cowboys Ball to Start Second Half After Walt Anderson Gaffe
By Adam Weinrib

Even though Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys offense did a pretty good job of rendering the referees' blunders irrelevant in this one, everything turned out properly after all.
After a halftime discussion, the crew decided to correctly award the first kickoff of the second half to Dallas. Once they reviewed the footage and realized Prescott clearly told official Walt Anderson that he wanted to "defer" after initially saying "kick," the league realized they actually had the power to make things right here.
Cowboys get ball to start second half. All is right in the world.

Dallas, of course, is in the process of blowing the doors off the Rams, but what's right is right. No matter the final result, we won't have a cloud of unfairness surrounding this one. Nope, only a cloud of incompetence!
An acrobatic Sean Lee late in the first half helped Dallas pile on 28 points, after it initially seemed they'd be stuck entering the half only up 14 (or less) and losing the ball to begin the third quarter.

Nope. 31-7, after the ball was properly awarded to the 'Boys. All's well that ends well.
