If you're a Seattle Seahawks fan, you're seething right now. Yes, you missed out on the NFC West title by mere inches when Jacob Hollister was stopped barely short of the goal line by Dre Greenlaw in the dying moments of Sunday night's game against the 49ers -- but that's all there is to it. Moments before, San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner totally draped himself over Hollister on a pass play, and while it appeared to be a clear instance of pass interference, the infraction went completely uncalled.

The Seahawks would have had a first down on the one-yard line if the flag had been thrown.

They didn't, because it wasn't. And the rest is history.

The NFL has a serious problem with pass interference, and its efforts to enhance replay reviews of both calls and non-calls have still left a ton to be desired. Who's to say we aren't due for another Saints-Rams DPI debacle like we had a year ago? There is simply no assurance of quality or correctness when it comes to getting these consequential situations right.

Seattle was on the wrong end of the officials' inattention this time. But next week, it could be anyone.
