Remembering Colts Legend Mike Curtis Laying Out a Fan Who Ran on the Field During a Game
By Michael Luciano

The NFL community learned of another tragic loss on Monday, as former Colts linebacker Mike Curtis, a hallmark of the Don Shula and Don McCafferty teams that reached the Super Bowl twice in three years, passed away at the age of 77.
While Curtis is best known for his interception that led to a Jim O'Brien game-winning field goal in Super Bowl V, a forgotten highlight that stands out from Curtis' career was when a goofball fan ran onto the field, only to find himself on the receiving end of a trademark, vicious Curtis hit.

Curtis was the stalwart force inside on those great Colts defenses. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro who made his mark as one of the best coverage linebackers in NFL history.
In addition to his coverage skills, as that unlucky fan found out, he could really deliver a blow if he got a clean shot in, too.
4x Pro Bowl, 2x All Pro, member of great late 60s Colts teams. Big loss https://t.co/wXTgmNtSux

Curtis' loss is a major blow not only for the Colts organization and the city of Baltimore, but also for the NFL community as a whole, as one of the nicest guys and most relentless linebackers of his day has unfortunately passed away.
