Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver of all time, and arguing for anyone else is simply wasting time or being flat-out stupid. There is an argument to be made for Rice as the greatest football player ever, period.

While we could go on forever about his accomplishments over his 16 years with the San Francisco 49ers, many forget how good he was during the later stages of his career, as he made a Pro Bowl and Super Bowl with the Oakland Raiders at age 40. Rice played until he was 42, finishing up with the Seattle Seahawks.

Rice was actually traded from the Raiders to the Seahawks for...nothing. Seattle have Oakland a conditional seventh-round pick for Rice, but the condition to swap the pick was not met.

Even at the age of 42, Rice was still somewhat productive. In 11 games, Rice caught 25 passes for 362 yards and three touchdowns. The Seahawks won the NFC West and made the playoffs, but fell to the St. Louis Rams in the Wild Card game.

While Rice tried to play one more year with the Denver Broncos at the age of 43, he didn't make the team and soon retired after that, leaving behind a legacy that will never be equalled.

Who Won the Trade?

When you give up nothing in a trade and you get something in return, it's pretty easy to be declared the winner. Even at the age of 42 with a lot of tread on his tires, Rice was making big catches for a playoff team. There will only be one Jerry Rice.
