Revisiting Steelers-Dolphins Minkah Fitzpatrick Trade
By Mark Powell

NFL trades have a habit of favoring one side over another, especially months down the line. The deal which sent Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Steelers from South Beach is a rarity.
Pittsburgh traded their first-round pick, a fourth in 2020 and a sixth in 2021 for Fitzpatrick along with two of Miami's picks. Since then, much has changed regarding the outlook of these two teams, but only for the better.
I was gonna wait until draft day but this is just too fire not to share now

With the 18th pick in the 2020 draft the Pittsburgh #Steelers select Minkah Fitzpatrick ! ? RT’s appreciated ??? pic.twitter.com/3tdowUq9ay
Behind Fitzpatrick, the Steelers secondary transformed into a turnover machine, nearly carrying Pittsburgh to the playoffs despite Ben Roethlisberger's season-ending injury. There is (likely) no better player the Steelers could draft at the position with pick No. 18 in this year's draft.
Miami, meanwhile, has since given Xavien Howard and Byron Jones record-breaking contracts, solidifying their secondary for years to come. Now with an extra first-round pick, they're in prime position to add to their young corps after making waves in free agency.

The Steelers did lose out on the opportunity to draft a true QB of the future in 2020, but Fitzpatrick extends their window to compete under Roethlisberger in the interim.
Miami, meanwhile, went from tanking laughingstock to New England-lite with Brian Flores, with a true opportunity to compete in the AFC East now that Tom Brady has moved on to Tampa Bay.
We'd say that worked out quite well.
