Dick Mountain has ascended, once again, to legend status.

Yup, 39-year-old starter and Massachusetts native Rich Hill began this Saturday by intending to enjoy his holiday properly with his wife Caitlin: watching Tom Brady sling the rock all around on the Bills' vaunted defense.

Unfortunately, Hill didn't get to witness the GOAT in person this time around; the free agent was booked by the cops for disorderly conduct outside Gillette Stadium, apparently because he fought back against their attempts to shove his wife into a police car for undue reasons.

Yup. Disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and "intimidation of police," all because he attempted to fight back at police officers who claimed his wife was trespassing.

As spokesman Robert Bolger of the Foxborough police said to the Boston Globe, “[Hill] saw her as they were trying to get her into a van to bring to the police station, and he started to interfere with the officers. He was told several times to back up and he would not. And he ended up getting arrested."

Look, any way you slice it, you're not allowed to behave this way by the letter of the law, but if the reports filtering out of Foxborough, Hill stepped up when his wife needed him, and deserves a subtle, secret pat on the back.

Hey, MLB teams? Especially the one that plays closest to Foxborough? Sign this man!
