Rich Paul Sends Cryptic Tweet Minutes After Report Drops About Knicks' Criteria for New President
By Brendan Balsamo

Thanks to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, we may just have an idea of what direction the New York Knicks franchise is headed in. Wojnarowski reported Tuesday morning that Knicks owner James Dolan fired team president Steve Mills after over six years with the team. Woj then came out and said that the Knicks might be trying to go in a direction that has worked for many other franchises: hiring a player agent as president.
Rich Paul, a very popular player agent, is playing into the rumors, sending out a real cryptic tweet Tuesday afternoon.

The crazy thing about it isn't the content of the tweet, but the fact that this tweet was Paul's first non-retweet since Sept. of 2012. Paul hasn't tweeted in over seven years, signaling that maybe he might be considering a career change.
ESPN Sources with @ramonashelburne: Knicks owner Jim Dolan is already considering a front office model that is working with Golden State (Bob Myers) and the Lakers (Rob Pelinka): Hiring a top basketball executive out of the player agent ranks.

Paul's current clients include John Wall, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, and Ben Simmons. With the money that those elite players are making, Paul is no doubt in good standing in the sports agent world, but that's all he's done since 2012.

Of course, it's possible Paul is simply excited about another candidate, CAA agent Austin Brown, who reps D'Angelo Russell and Zion Williamson.
CAA's Austin Brown is among those being given internal consideration for the Knicks' presidency opening, per SNY sources.

Maybe a change in Paul's Twitter activity signifies a change in his career activity as well. Or maybe he's just pumped about a Lakers move, and remembered his Twitter password. Knicks fans will be especially eager to crack this code
