Richard Sherman Commented on Likelihood of Visiting White House if 49ers Win the Super Bowl

The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are playing for NFL immortality next Sunday in Miami.
A Super Bowl win also means a likely invitation to go to the White House. That has become a more controversial act under President Donald Trump, and Richard Sherman may be the latest athlete to turn down the invitation, if his 49ers beat the Chiefs.

This becomes a non-issue if the Chiefs win. Though, certain players on that team may join in on Sherman's initial plan.
Sherman has never been one to back down from taking a stand, and he's been vocal about his political opinions in the past. His comments on a possible visit with President Trump aren't the least bit surprising.
There is also the possibility of Trump not issuing an invitation if there is outspoken criticism of him. The Golden State Warriors chose not to visit the White House following their 2018 NBA Finals victory.

Sherman has every right as an American citizen to turn down a visit to the White House, and his teammates have every right to do the same, or to attend such a visit.
