The Boston Red Sox have seen their bats catch fire, but the pitching is as cold as ice. One of the main culprits for Boston's pitching woes? Starter Rick Porcello.

On Saturday, Porcello threw five innings against the Los Angeles Angeling surrendered 5 earned runs on 5 hits (2 home runs) in a 12-4 loss. After the game, he was asked about his struggles this season, and he gave a painfully honest answer that speaks volumes.

Ouch.

Last season, Porcello was on the highest of highs, as he posted a 17-7 record and 4.28 ERA, whcih in turn, contributed to the Red Sox winning the World Series. This year, the script has completely been flipped, as Boston continues to far further down the AL East standings.

In 24 games this season, Porcello has a 10-9 record, but with a ballooned 5.67 ERA. To make matters worse, the right-hander is in the final season of his four-year, $82.5 million contract with Boston, as he's expected to his unrestricted free agency this winter facing serious questions.

Not the ideal situation for the man, who just three years ago won the AL CY Young award.
