Rihanna and Kevin Durant Went Back and Forth in IG Live Comments Over His Coronavirus Diagnosis
By Michael Luciano
Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant was the most high profile NBA player that was confirmed to have tested positive for the coronavirus amid the country's struggle with containing the disease. Even a major public health crisis couldn't stop KD from getting into his usual social media beefs. At least his latest target is a celebrity and not a random 15-year-old kid.
Rihanna arrived in an Instagram Live chat with jokes about KD, mocking the fact that he has been infected by wondering if she needed to wear a mask. While she did wish Durant the best, that kicked off a major back-and-forth.
Durant called her "Robyn", her actual first name, and asked if she just came from Europe, which is being ravaged by the virus. Rihanna denied this, saying she has been in the US since January,
Durant later responded by saying that the virus was "lurking" over there since December, hinting that Rihanna might have contracted COVID-19 without showing any symptoms. Durant also claimed that his coughs sounded "Rona-ish", which seemed to end the insult-throwing.
You have to tip your cap to KD. He is currently recovering from a serious viral infection, and he's still finding time to argue with music's greatest stars on Instagram. What a work ethic.
