VIDEO: Ringside Footage Shows Insane Strength Behind Tyson Fury's Punch on Deontay Wilder
By Scott Rogust
Tyson Fury warned the world he planned to be on the offensive during his rematch with Deontay Wilder. Yet when the Gypsy King implemented that gameplan in Las Vegas, it still managed to shock the crowd. On Saturday night, Fury ended any doubts to his supremacy by schooling Wilder in seven rounds to win the WBC heavyweight title, throwing haymaker after haymaker from the get-go. Ringside footage shows just how intense a right hook from the 6-9 giant was, and it's pretty gnarly.
Good lord. No wonder Wilder looked wobbly for the better part of the seven-round bout.
Years ago, the "Bronze Bomber" mocked Fury's punching strength, when he infamously mocked his "pillow fists." Well, it wasn't feathers in those pillows on Saturday night.
That's a 231-pound Wilder dropping to the mat with a single punch. And just look at the sweat that flew off Wilder's body after Fury connected with a hook to his left ear. Not bad for a guy with pillow fists.
