Rival Team Reportedly Has NSFW Comment for Blue Jays After Poor Marcus Stroman Trade Return
By Ryan Giglio

Since hiring Brodie Van Wagenen as general manager, the New York Mets have been a confusing mess, often leaving the fan base bemused and vexed as to the direction the franchise is heading.
Well, the Mets' team's latest move may be just as confusing as the rest, though for once it looks as if the deal is stand to benefit the team, all the while infuriating other franchises.
The Blue Jays' return for Marcus Stroman is viewed as incredibly light. Many around the league question why Toronto made the trade, still having a few days until the deadline. In fact, SNY's Andy Martino says one rival executive had a choice phrase to describe the trade.
Other teams selling pitchers are very annoyed at the Blue Jays return for Stroman, which one rival called “dogs*it.” If that’s all it took to get Stroman, fear is the price goes down for other pitchers unde control

Teams looking to deal starters with controllable contracts are livid because they feel the trade devalued their assets.
However, the Mets accepting the perceived cheap offer for Stroman may also impact the team's own ability to deal Noah Syndergaard for adequate value.
The Mets have talked with the San Diego Padres regarding Syndergaard. However, the lack of a top 100 prospect being dealt in the Stroman trade will likely deter the Padres from selling the farm for Thor.
As #Mets and #Padres continue discussing Noah Syndergaard, source says it’s clear San Diego will not include MacKenzie Gore in the trade — especially after the Stroman deal did not include a top 100 prospect per @MLBPipeline. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Leave it to the Mets to make an unnecessary trade that may actually hurt their leverage in trade talks with other teams, as well as infuriate 28 other front offices who were hoping to acquire some top-tier minor league talent for a tradable pitcher.
