RJ Barrett's Latest Comment on Shooting Left-Handed is the Most Knicks Thing Ever
By Brady Williams

The New York Knicks just can't seem to catch a break. Aside from their marketing, management, on-court performance, and general reputation, they're a perfectly respectable NBA franchise that ends up in the news for all the wrong reasons. So, it comes as no surprise that star rookie R.J. Barrett is getting some press for one of the more fundamentally bizarre comments a young player has made in recent years.
The Duke graduate explained to Newsday reporter Laura Albanese that he's right-handed and even has better shooting form from his dominant side. Despite that, Barrett shoots with his left-hand, claiming it to be more comfortable for him.
RJ Barrett just informed us that he’s actually a righty and has better shooting form with his right. Just more comfortable shooting with his left. Huh.

NBA fans will undoubtedly get a kick out of those comments, as any excuse to laugh at the Knicks is typically capitalized upon by followers of the league.
While comfort is key when shooting, it's certainly worrisome that Barrett is aware his left-handed shooting form needs work, and even more concerning that there's a noticeable difference in shot form between his dominant and weak hands.

On the year, Barrett has struggled with consistency as a shooter, knocking down just 39.1% of his field goal attempts and 31.1% of his 3s. Despite claiming to be "practically ambidextrous," Barrett may want to spend this offseason deciding which hand he's better off shooting with, because the results from his rookie season have been subpar.
