Rob Gronkowski Claims He Had Bucs Playbook 'Weeks Ago' and Patriots Fans Should Demand NFL Investigation
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers landed both Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski in the same offseason to become New England Patriots South. Both players dealt with some controversy while leaving Foxborough, and have already raised some eyebrows in Florida.
First was Brady, who visited with Bucs coach Byron Leftwich, which is technically against NFL rules. It was determined not to be an issue, so leave it up to Gronk to blurt out something to put the focus on a potential rules violation once again. The Super Bowl-winning TE claims he's had a Bucs playbook for a month, and that is bad news for him and his new team.
If Gronk actually had the playbook last month, it means he was already scheming a move to Tampa. That would be clear tampering on the part of the Bucs and the NFL has to step in and at least conduct some sort of investigation.
Heck, if this were the Patriots, we'd already been talking draft compensation.
Gronkowski avoided being traded to Detroit a few years back. Getting a new team's playbook and forcing a trade is a new level of power move, and one that is a clear violation of the rules. If there are tampering rules in place, they have to be enforced or other teams will just ignore them altogether.
