Rob Pelinka Apparently Completely Fabricated Ridiculous Story About Kobe Bryant and Heath Ledger
By Brian Cass
Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has been in the news quite a bit lately. It seems like every time you turn on SportsCenter they're discussing a new development surrounding his Lakers and their dysfunction.
With this latest revelation about Pelinka, all the whispers about him being untrustworthy are starting to to seem true.
Anyone who's seen "The Dark Knight" knows how great of a performance Heath Ledger gave as the Joker. But unfortunately, none of us truly know what went into his preparation for the role, as he died six months BEFORE the release of the film.
But I guess that slipped Pelinka's mind when he told this story. According to Pelinka, when Kobe Bryant was on the team in 2008, the year "The Dark Knight" hit theaters, Kobe had come to Pelinka to see if he could set up a dinner with the actor so he could discuss how he was able to get mentally prepared to take on such a prolific role.
He even claimed that Kobe took what he and Ledger discussed and applied to his game, saying, "Kobe used some of that in his game against the Knicks," the weekend he had the sit-down with Ledger.
This is just another bad look for Pelinka, who should be doing anything he can to regain some of his lost reputation. With all the negative Buzz surrounding the exec, it's no wonder Lakers fans are worried about luring free agents to Los Angeles this summer.
