Robinson Canó Claims He Will Return From IL on Tuesday

Normally teams clear their athletes to return from injury, and once that player is cleared, the team will announce their imminent return. However, when you find yourself to be part of the dysfunction that is the New York Mets, you can apparently clear yourself to return to action.
That's exactly what veteran and offseason-acquisition Robinson Canó did, as he himself announced that he would be coming off the IL Tuesday.
Canó injured his quad when he actually decided to run to first base, something he has not done often in his first season for the Mets. If Canó can start to regain his form that has made him a perennial All-Star, then this is positive news for a Mets team than is in the midst of a terrible road trip that saw them win just two-of-seven games.
Canó has struggled this year, batting .241 with just 3 home runs and 13 RBI. He has not been his usual self, and is a long ways away from his career .303 average that the Mets thought they were acquiring this past offseason.
It has been yet another frustrating year for Mets fans, and Canó's apparently lack of energy has only furthered the turmoil. Despite the negatives, his return is good news for the Mets, who have to hope he can spark a little run for their ball club.
