Rockets GM Daryl Morey Reportedly Making All Players and Draft Picks Available in Trade Talks
By Brian Cass
Following yet another disappointing playoff departure at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, the Houston Rockets and GM Daryl Morey are trying to do everything in their power to ensure the same thing doesn't happen again.
In an effort to do so, reports are surfacing that Morey is open to trading any player and any draft pick at his disposal to improve the Rockets' roster.
The Rockets have been trying to get the most out of the Chris Paul-James Harden duo for a few years now, and they just can't seem to get over the hump.
Harden getting moved seems farfetched, especially after this season where he seems like the favorite to bring home the MVP award. Paul, on the other hand, is a different story.
The aging veteran showed clear signs of regression this season. At age 33, Paul averaged only 15.6 points per game, which was the worst output of his career. He was able to get that number up to 17 per game in the postseason, but it still wasn't enough to get past the Warriors.
His hefty contract could make it difficult to find a trade partner, but don't be surprised if his good friend LeBron James comes calling.
Nevertheless, the Rockets are in need of a makeover, and moving Paul seems like a natural thing to do with his age and declining production.
As for the rest of the Rockets squad, we'll have to see how it all plays out. It looks like Rockets fans are in for a rollercoaster of a summer.
