Rockets Reportedly Sign Free Agent Forward Jeff Green
By Karl Rasmussen
The Houston Rockets had a pair of open roster spots they were looking to fill after the All-Star break, and they made quick work in locking down one veteran asset.
According to reports, the Rockets have signed free agent forward Jeff Green.
Green is practically the definition of an NBA journeyman, having played for eight teams across 12 seasons. The former first-round pick (No. 5 overall in 2007) has played for four teams over the last four seasons, with the Rockets set to be his fifth.
Last year he featured in 30 games for the Jazz, averaging 7.8 points and 2.7 rebounds while hitting 32.7% of his 3s. His best season came back in 2013-14 with the Celtics when he averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds.
The Rockets are also said to be in on recently-bought out forward DeMarre Carroll, which would fill their roster. The addition of the pair of veterans could prove beneficial for a Houston team looking to contend in the West.
