Rockets Reveal First Photo of Russell Westbrook in a Houston Uniform
By Michael Luciano
Avert your eyes, Oklahoma City Thunder fans. The greatest player in the history of your franchise is now clad in the neon red of the hated Houston Rockets.
Point guard Russell Westbrook was introduced as a Rocket today after the trade that sent him to Houston while shipping Chris Paul and a boatload of future first-round picks the other way to Oklahoma City. Westbrook modeled the Rockets' new uniforms they will sport in the 2019-20 season, while also giving us our first look at Westbrook in a Houston jersey.
Given how iconic Westbrook looked clad in Oklahoma City's bright blue and orange jerseys, this might take some time to get used too.
While it remains to be seen if Westbrook and James Harden, the two most ball-dominant players in the league, can co-exist in Mike D'Antoni's system, at the very least it will be must-see TV.
With Westbrook still having three years left on his supermax deal, Brodie and the Beard will be keeping Houston in the championship picture for years to come.
