Rockies All-Star OF David Dahl Placed on 10-Day IL After Suffering Gnarly Ankle Injury
By Karl Rasmussen
Colorado Rockies All-Star David Dahl suffered what appeared to be a gruesome ankle injury while attempting to make a play in the outfield during Friday night's clash.
After undergoing an MRI, Dahl was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and was subsequently placed on the 10-day IL.
In a corresponding move, the Rockies recalled Yonathan Daza from Triple-A Albuquerque. He's slashing .364/.404/.548 with 11 home runs and 48 RBI across 89 games, though in his brief six-game stint in the majors thus far, he went 1-for-18 at the dish.
Dahl was enjoying a career year before going down with the injury, which unfortunately, seems to be a recurring theme throughout the young outfielder's career.
He missed much of the 2017 season, appearing in just 19 minor league games, after suffering a stress reaction to a rib injury he picked up in Spring Training.
Dahl was slashing .302/.353/.524 with 15 home runs and 61 RBI across 100 games this season. His performance earned him his first All-Star game honors, so hopefully the 25-year-old won't be out too long.
