Ron Rivera Reportedly Expects New Head Coaching Deal Shortly After Week 17

Ron Rivera was fired by the Carolina Panthers earlier this season and immediately became a top head coaching candidate.
Teams like the Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants could all be looking at Rivera to lead their respective team in 2020 and beyond. Rivera is reportedly expecting to know his new new home in the next few days.
Former #Panthers coach Ron Rivera has emerged as a top coaching candidate & has told people he expects a deal to come together quickly, sources say. It could even be 24 hours after Week 17 ends. The #Redskins have interest, tho other teams without openings yet are also circling.

The Redskins would seem to be a top option considering the team has had two months to think over the decision after firing Jay Gruden. Rivera could bring discipline to an organization that desperately needs it.
Though as Ian Rapoport's tweet mentions, Rivera might have other options as soon as the Monday after Week 17, should he be willing to wait that long.
There’s significant league buzz around Ron Rivera and the Redskins, with several sources believing he is a prime candidate for the job. ‘He’s being strongly considered,’ said a source of the minority candidate.

Rivera is going to be able to choose where he wants to go in 2020. The Redskins have to hope he is willing to put up with Dan Snyder. If so, he could help turn around that franchise.
