Ronnie Stanley is the Ravens' Secret Weapon and You Should Not Attempt to Mess With Him

When you think of the dominant offense of the Baltimore Ravens, one name comes to mind, future NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
Beyond Jackson, there are a few notable playmakers (Mark "Big Truss" Ingram, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, Mark Andrews), however the secondary catalyst (behind Jackson) for the team's offensive resurgence is one player we have been overlooking all season long. Yup, we're talking about Ronnie Stanley.
One thing that didn't make it into the piece.

On snaps where Stanley gets no help, he's pass blocking on average for 3 seconds. Only 3 Ts are being asked to block for longer with no help.
And he's still not losing on those plays.
According to Pro Football Focus,, Stanley is in the midst of the single-best pass-blocking season for a lineman in modern NFL history. The former Notre Dame lineman is just the latest in a line of dominant OL prospects to come out of the program.

When the Ravens selected Stanley sixth overall in the 2016 draft, they clearly saw him as a future superstar at the left tackle position. Now, the 25-year-old is coming into his own, proving the team right as he approaches a contract-year in 2020. Expect Stanley's next contract to reset the market for left tackles, given his historically dominant 2019 season.
