Rookie Receiver N'Keal Harry Exits Patriots' Preseason Opener With Apparent Injury
By Scott Rogust
This isn't the news the New England Patriots wanted to hear in their preseason opener.
During Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions, first round pick N'Keal Harry left the game with an apparent injury.
Harry impressed in New England's preseason opener, as he made two acrobatic catches. However on the last catch, a 25-yarder, Harry limped off the field and entered the team's blue medical tent. He then stood on the sidelines with his helmet in hand.
This injury appears to be a reaggravation of what happened on Tuesday, where he grabbed the back of his leg during practice. However, Harry was active during Wednesday's practice, albeit in a minimal manner.
New England enters its first official season without Rob Gronkowski, so the Patriots are going to need as many receiving options as possible. The team already has Julian Edelman, while adding the likes of Demaryius Thomas and Cameron Meredith via free agency.
The Patriots liked what they saw out of the vertical deep threat out of Arizona State, and now, they await to see if the injury is anything to be seriously concerned about.
