Royals Lineup
KC's march toward relevance will certainly come at the behest of their young bats.
Whit Merrifield leads things off for the Royals in center field. Alex Gordon and Hunter Dozier will both look to continue their hot starts to the season, as they bat cleanup and fifth in the order, respectively.
Brad Keller (2-5, 4.66 ERA) will take the mound to start for the Royals. He's struggled in his past two starts, allowing nine earned runs and 12 hits in 10.2 innings of work.
Cardinals Lineup
Here's how your I-70 Series leaders line up.
Matt Carpenter is back in the leadoff spot for the Cardinals, as center fielder Harrison Bader, who went 2-for-4 leading off against the Rangers on Sunday, slides back down to the seven-spot. Cleanup hitter Marcell Ozuna will look to bust out of his recent 10-for-61 skid.
Michael Wacha (3-1, 4.93 ERA) toes the rubber for the Cardinals in the first game of the doubleheader. He was effective in his most recent start, allowing just one earned run in five innings.
