The Kansas City Royals (40-73) head to Boston to take on the Red Sox (59-55) in the first of a three-game set. The game features two teams looking to break out of hefty slumps, with each squad in the midst of a long losing streak.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM ET from Fenway Park and will be televised on NESN and Fox Sports Kansas City. The game can also be viewed on FuboTV (free trial!) and the MLB Streams subreddit.

Royals Lineup

Hunter Dozier and Jorge Soler provide the might in the middle of the Royals lineup, as they've socked a combined 47 home runs this season. The rear of the lineup is built of underperforming youth in Ryan O'Hearn, Meibrys Viloria, and Nicky Lopez.

Mike Montgomery (1-4, 6.34 ERA) will pitch for the Royals on Monday in just his fourth start since being dealt from the Chicago Cubs. He's had a rough go of his first three games with the club, pitching to a 7.94 ERA and managing fewer than four innings per start.

Red Sox Lineup

Boston's potent offense has been let down by subpar pitching this season, but if the team hopes to stay in the playoff race it will need to be on the back of their star-studded lineup. Everyone knows how talented their lineup is, but the Red Sox could use more production from Jackie Bradley Jr. to jumpstart the order from the nine hole.

The Red Sox send veteran righty Rick Porcello (9-8, 5.74 ERA) to the mound as he looks to turn around the worst season of his career so far. In his last seven starts, Porcello has posted an abhorrent ERA of 9.35.

The defending champion Red Sox enter this series on an abysmal eight-game losing streak, and the lowly Royals could be just the matchup Boston needs to get off the schneid.
