Royals Wear Unique Throwback Uniforms With Kansas City Monarchs Jerseys on Sunday
By Ryan Flores
The Kansas City Royals threw it all the way back to the 1930s with this one. On Sunday, the Royals pulled out the old Kansas City Monarchs jerseys for their matchup against the Minnesota Twins.
The Royals aren't the only ones bringing out the throwback uni's, as the Twins also showed up to the ballpark with their own throwback jerseys, although they're not as nice as those Monarchs jerseys.
It's clearly working, as the Royals are currently up on the Twins 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning. The one who seems to be enjoying the throwback jerseys the most is Hunter Dozier, who hit a three-run jack in his third game back from the injured list.
Maybe the 26-51 Royals should wear the Monarchs jerseys more often. They clearly seem to play some of their best baseball when they do. It can't hurt, and it'll probably put some life back into Royals fans, whether they're at home or in the crowd.
