Rumored Details of Knicks-Warriors D'Angelo Russell Trade Talks Emerge
By Michael Luciano

The New York Knicks are spiraling out of control, but that hasn't stopped them from bizarrely moving into "buy" mode as they reportedly try to pilfer D'Angelo Russell from the Golden State Warriors.
The Knicks are rumored to have offered a package centered around Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina and Bobby Portis in exchange for Russell.
New York Knicks have an offer for D'Angelo Russell. That deal would include Bobby Portis, Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina, Allonzo Trier and a 2nd round pick.

Warriors aren’t interested, I’m told. GSW want Mitchell Robinson & Knicks unprotected 1st rounder added to offer. (1/2)
I'm sorry, this is supposed to entice the Warriors?
It's pretty clear to see why the Warriors probably aren't interested. Knox, arguably the big piece in this deal, has continued to struggle to shoot and has actually regressed in his second season. Ntilikina continues to offer nothing of value on offense, Trier has seen his scoring drop, and Portis isn't even averaging 10 points a game.
Keep in mind, Russell, a former All-Star who is just 23, is currently being pursued by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and averages 20 points per game in his sleep. Do the Knicks really think they can sell all of the useless junk from a team that has won just 14 games for a franchise point guard?

Then again, the Warriors could definitely use all of those players as depth pieces when they get back to full strength next season, so that's one way to look at it if you're a Golden State fan.
Russell to the Knicks is an odd fit given the trajectory of the franchise, and the Warriors parting ways with a player as talented as him before he even got a chance to play alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson would be even more odd, but perhaps they're looking big picture in terms of building an even deeper roster.
