Those Rumors of Eli Manning Meeting With the Bears Were Extremely False
By Brendan Balsamo
On Wednesday, reports surfaced stating that New York Giants legend and former starting quarterback Eli Manning met with the Chicago Bears. What, could No. 10 already be rethinking his retirement?
Apparently, that rumor is completely false. The Bears and Manning did not meet.
Yup, sorry Bears fans. If you were hoping Eli would save you from Mitchell Trubisky, that won't be the case.
According to Bleacher Report's David Freeman, multiple teams have actually reached out to Manning to see if he'd have any interest in playing next year. However, the chances of the two-time Super Bowl champion flipping things and suiting up in 2020 are slim to none.
Manning retired at the end of this past NFL season. He lost his job to first-round pick Daniel Jones, the future of the G-Men along with star running back Saquon Barkley.
Seeing Manning wear anything other than a Giants uniform would be a sad sight to see, so the rumblings of him going somewhere else to play being false is a relief for everyone in New York and New Jersey. There will never be another player in East Rutherford like good ol' Eli.
