Russell Okung Gives Positive Update on Recent Terrifying Medical Situation
By Jerry Trotta

Back on June 1, Russell Okung suffered a serious health scare which began with immense pains in his chest, and the Chargers' starting left tackle subsequently removed himself from the mini camp practices and checked into Urgent Care.
As it turns out, the decision might have just saved his life, as Okung took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that he actually suffered a Pulmonary Embolism due to blood clots. Thankfully, the two-time Pro-Bowler is in good spirits as he continues his recovery.

Ahead of the team's first training camp session, the Chargers placed Okung on the non-football illness list, and there is no timetable set for his return. General manager Tom Telesco even indicated on Wednesday that the 31-year-old vet could miss the entirety of training camp.
But that won't stop Okung from giving his teammates moral support. He's present at camp, giving tips during certain drills. Given the severity of what he experienced, however, we hope that he isn't pushing himself too hard.
A very scary situation that is headed in the right direction. https://t.co/Vl1f3I8F4N

After all, Russell has to be ready to block Phillip Rivers' blindside "all the way to Miami," which of course is the location for the 2020 Super Bowl.
What a relieving update.
