The ref show is taking place in Houston on Wednesday as the Rockets take on the Grizzlies. Russell Westbrook finished off a tough drive to the basket and flexed after scoring. Apparently this was egregious enough to warrant a technical?

This is absolutely embarrassing for the NBA and all its referees. Westbrook was called for taunting after having a normal reaction to scoring a basket. The Grizzlies didn't seem to be complaining and were ready to continue on with the play. The ref just took it upon himself to enter himself into the game for no reason.

Westbrook picked up a steal and scored on the next possession. His celebration didn't warrant a technical the second time around.

His second celebration was arguably more demonstrative than the first, but the ref swallowed his whistle. Issuing a second technical for that may have broken the NBA once and for all.
