Russell Wilson Welcomes Josh Gordon to Seattle in Great Tweet
By Mark Powell
Russell Wilson is ready to get to work.
The Seattle Seahawks made waves on Friday afternoon by claiming Josh Gordon off waivers from the New England Patriots. Gordon is reportedly thrilled to join the Hawks, in part due to his relationship with Wilson. Flash made it clear that playing with a top quarterback was his No. 1 priority, and he now gets to live out that dream in Seattle.
Wilson welcomed his new teammate to the Emerald City on twitter.
Seattle's receiving corps already includes the likes of Tyler Lockett and rookie DK Matcalf. Adding a deep threat like Gordon should open up more opportunities for both wideouts, and potentially more holes for Seattle's rushing attack.
This is all assuming that Gordon can find a way onto the field this season. The Patriots had placed him on injured reserve earlier this week, a move Flash disagreed with which led to his release.
The NFC West will be fun to watch for the remainder of this season, with the Seahawks, Rams and 49ers all fighting for playoff spots.
