Steph Curry Got Owned After Sabrina Ionescu Went With Nike and Bailed on His Suggestion to Sign With Under Armour

As soon as Sabrina Ionescu announced that she would be returning to Oregon for her senior season, it was immediately presumed that she would be the top pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft.

On Friday night, her dream became official when she was selected No. 1 overall by the New York Liberty.

Later in the night, it was revealed that the former Ducks star signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike, which is hilarious when you remember that Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry was leading the recruiting efforts to try and persuade her to join the Under Armour team.

Ionescu was reportedly pursued by Nike, Under Armour and Puma. Taking her Oregon roots into consideration, it really comes as no surprise that she chose the company which famously sports the "Just Do It" slogan.

Have you ever seen Oregon's fire football uniforms? Yeah, that's the work of Nike.

Over her career in Eugene, the 22-year-old point guard established herself as a Ducks legend. She became the only player in college basketball history to finish with at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 1,000 assists.

Choosing a brand other than Nike just wasn't a realistic option for Ioenscu. Not only do we agree with her decision, but the triple-double machine deserves massive props for owning Curry in the process.
