Saints DE Cam Jordan Reveals He Underwent Core Muscle Surgery in February
By Dylan McCaffrey
It looks like Saints DE Cameron Jordan will be using some of the offseason for some much-needed recovery after going through the gauntlet in 2019.
The defenseman told Michael Silver of NFL Media that he underwent core muscle surgery on Feb. 4, right after the Super Bowl, to alleviate a torn adductor muscle.
Jordan said he sustained the injury during the Saints' Dec. 8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He reportedly played five weeks through the pain of an adductor muscle that had been torn off the bone.
After undergoing the procedure, Jordan is expected to be ready to return in time for the start of training camp in July.
He has been one of the best and most consistent defensive players since the Saints drafted him 24th overall in the 2011 draft. He has never missed a game in his nine years in New Orleans, and had a career-high 15.5 sacks last season.
Hopefully he doesn't have any setbacks in his recovery and he can be back in 2020 at full strength.
Missing Jordan for any amount of time would be a significant loss for the Saints defense, but fortunately it looks like he'll be good to go come training camp.
