Saints Can Complete Their Offseason With This Sneaky Move

The New Orleans Saints currently sit with just over $8 million in cap space during an offseason that has seen the team make several great moves such as signing Emmanuel Sanders and Malcolm Jenkins.
Drew Brees is back for at least another year and the goal should once again be to compete for a Super Bowl. Signing Sanders added a nice piece to the receiving corps that is already led by Michael Thomas. But Ted Ginn is now in Chicago and that leaves the team lacking experience behind Thomas and Sanders.
One under-the-radar move to cap off their transactions this offseason would be to sign Taylor Gabriel.
The Bears cleared up $13.5 Million in cap space by releasing Prince Amukamara and Taylor Gabriel.

Gabriel remains a free agent after being cut by the Bears. He had a total of 1,041 yards and six touchdowns in two years with the team. The 5-foot-7 speeder seems like a great fit for a Saints offense filled with weapons. He could fill the void left by Ginn and instantly join the team as the third receiver.

The former Atlanta Falcon was on a four-year, $26 million contract with the Bears before being cut. Given the fact he's still a free agent, the Saints could perhaps coax Gabriel to sign a short-term deal to help him rebuild his value for another crack at free agency.
We've seen what Gabriel could do playing with Matt Ryan, so just imagine what he could do with another competent QB in Brees when you realize how bad Mitchell Trubisky has been. The Saints offense is already stacked and Gabriel would just be another threat in a scheme featuring plenty of misdirection.
