Saints Reportedly Claim Former Giants CB Janoris Jenkins
By Thomas Carannante

You think New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has a thing for cornerbacks on the New York Giants?
Last year, they traded for Eli Apple, who the G-Men were eager to get rid of, and now the Saints have claimed the exiled Janoris Jenkins, who was waived last week after refusing to apologize for sending an insensitive tweet to a fan.
The #Saints claimed CB Janoris Jenkins off waivers, sources tell @RapSheet and me. It's deferred until tomorrow because they play tonight.

The fact of the matter is you can never have too many defensive backs in today's NFL, and Payton is ready to prepare for some of the best offenses out there during the playoffs. Jenkins, while he hasn't been playing well over the last couple of seasons, could rediscover his Pro Bowl form outside of a toxic environment, which is what seemed to be the case in New York.
Jenkins was standout during his time with the then-St. Louis Rams before signing with the Giants in 2016. He made the Pro Bowl that year but then had his 2017 season cut short due to injury before massively underperforming the last two years.
Janoris Jenkins’ claim officially is delayed until Tuesday because the Saints play the Colts tonight. But Jenkins officially will become a Saint on Tuesday. https://t.co/kezZbpkl5o

He'll join Apple, Marshon Lattimore and Marcus Williams in the New Orleans secondary, which will need all the help it can get if they happen to face the Seahawks, Packers, Vikings or 49ers in the playoffs.
