Saints Could Be in Trouble With Latest Alvin Kamara Update
By Chris Russo
The New Orleans Saints injury woes continue, as the team already without the likes of Drew Brees for the next few weeks could now be missing Alvin Kamara.
After the Saints limited him against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday due to a knee injury, Kamara's status may be in doubt for this week's game in Chicago.
Kamara has had a mild high ankle issue since before the Jaguars game, according to head coach Sean Payton, though that and his knee injury kept him from practicing on Wednesday. Just to be safe, the Saints signed former Detroit Lions running back Zach Zenner this week in case Kamara cannot play Sunday.
Kamara has not missed a game this season, and he has been even more important with the absence of Brees.
The Saints will face one of their toughest opponents of the season this week: the Chicago Bears. The Bears are among the top five in the NFL in run defense and sit third in the league in points allowed per game. Breaking through Chicago's stout unit will be even tougher should Kamara be out.
