Saints WR Michael Thomas Reacts to Ted Ginn Jr. Leaving New Orleans to Sign With Bears
Ted Ginn Jr. has been well traveled during his NFL career. The veteran has played with five different teams and spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Saints.
But his time in the Big Easy is over and the journeyman already has a new home (for the sixth time). Ginn is signing with the Chicago Bears and his former teammate in Saints star Michael Thomas shared his reaction to the news with one simple tweet.
A bond broken, though Saints fans aren't too unhappy since Emmanuel Sanders is taking Ginn's place.
The 35-year-old Ginn was the veteran of the group during his time with the team. He hauled in 100 receptions for 1,417 yards and eight touchdowns during his three years as one of Drew Brees' targets. He serves as an upgrade for the Bears and can bring some speed to an offense that needs it at the receiver position.
Meanwhile, Thomas remains the top guy in New Orleans. He had 149 receptions for 1,725 yards in 2019 and is ready to run it back with Brees in 2020. He's understandably sad to see Ginn go, but the Saints will be just fine as long as Thomas continues to produce at this unprecedented rate.
