Saints Own Falcons With 28-3 Joke After Atlanta Makes Easily-Avoidable Mistake on Twitter
By Michael Luciano
The Atlanta Falcons are now a few years removed from their choke job that helped Tom Brady pick up his fifth Super Bowl title, but the legacy of that blown 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI is still following them around like a black cloud.
Trying to get in on a current lame Twitter trend in which users can only pick their three favorite choices from a list of nine items, the Falcons unwittingly opened themselves up for another 28-3 joke due to the placement of their logos. The New Orleans Saints took advantage.
Why didn't they just make the three Falcons logos the middle column instead of the middle row? All of this would have been avoided.
When you give up 25 unanswered points in just over 14 minutes of action, even three years of futility isn't enough to erase the constant barrage of jokes at your expense.
28-3 jokes are never going to go away. Even if Atlanta wins a Super Bowl, which will exercise a lot of demons, Twitter jokesters and rivals will continue to needle them about their epic choke job. Their social media team needs to be wary of that unfortunate fact whenever they try to dip their toes into these quirky Twitter challenges because now their quarantine Monday just got even worse.
