Saints Safety Vonn Bell Releases Statement After Losing Brother in Car Accident

A tragic news story out of Tennessee revealed that the victim of a Sunday night car accident was, in fact, the 29-year-old brother of New Orleans Saints safety Vonn Bell.

Volonte Bell was a basketball coach at Chattanooga State, and was officially ruled to be the accident's victim early on Monday afternoon.

Vonn Bell tweeted out a short statement about the tragedy later in the day.

Bell was sure to thank those offering up support to him and his family in a brief initial statement. This is a terrible tragedy, and one that affects so many who are close with the Bell family.

Bell is a free agent this offseason, and this tragedy could conceivably lead to him waiting on making a decision. Teams should be able to understand any delays during such a terrible time for him and his family.
