Saints Should Sign Josh Gordon if He's Reinstated
By Dylan McCaffrey
Josh Gordon is looking for a return to the NFL after his sixth suspension came on Dec. 16. The wide receiver was suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug and substance abuse policy.
When Gordon can stay in the NFL and on the field, he's a nightmare for opposing defenses. That's why the New Orleans Saints should aggressively pursue Gordon if he does get reinstated by the league.
The Saints are in desperate need of a wide receiver, and they haven't been active enough to land any of the big names. They missed out on Amari Cooper, who resigned with Dallas, and Randall Cobb, who went to Houston. Pairing a talent like Gordon alongside Michael Thomas would make for a lethal tandem at wide receiver.
The last time Gordon played close to a full season, all the way back in 2013, he featured in a career-high 14 games and was virtually unstoppable. He amassed 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns while hauling in 87 receptions.
Now almost 29, he still possesses the talent to make a significant impact in New Orleans, and with Brees throwing him the ball, Saints fans should be excited about the possibility.
