Saints Sign Back Wide Receiver Who Was Victim of Infamous Pass Interference No-Call in NFC Championship Game
By Brendan Balsamo

It's a haunting memory New Orleans Saints fans will never forget. The vision of Los Angeles Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman crashing into Saints wide receiver Tommylee Lewis in a critical fourth-quarter drive in the 2018-19 NFC Championship Game that ruined their season will stick with fans forever, as a blatant pass interference was not called. The referee, standing ten feet away and staring directly at the play, robbed the Saints of an opportunity to reach the Super Bowl.
On Monday evening, the Saints signed Lewis to a deal that will see him make his return to New Orleans for the first time since the infamous no-call.

Lewis was with New Orleans from 2016-2018 and was the WR who was hit on the infamous no pass interference call in the NFC Championship game vs. the Rams.
After the blown call, Lewis' contract with the Saints was up, and in March he signed with the Detroit Lions only to be released that August as a part of the final roster cuts. In October, he was drafted in the fifth round of the XFL Draft by the Dallas Renegades, but you can bet he'd much rather play in the NFL and try and make a return to the playoffs.

Who knows what will happen? Maybe Lewis is bad karma for the Saints. Or, perhaps he will be emblematic of a missed opportunity and fire up the Saints to return to the Super Bowl.
