Saints Super Bowl LT Jermon Bushrod to Announce Retirement
By Adam Weinrib

The 35-year-old guard who was a rock during the Saints' brightest hours is calling it quits -- in the black and gold, of course.
Jermon Bushrod, the team's starting left tackle during Super Bowl XLIV, will announce his retirement this week while the rest of the Saints are playing Thursday's preseason finale.

Bushrod was a stalwart member of the line from his fourth-round selection in 2007, right up until his departure for Chicago on an expensive free agent deal in 2013. He was a two-time Pro Bowler during his first Big Easy stint; after some time in Miami as well, Bushrod returned to New Orleans in 2018 to fill a gap left by the injured Terron Armstead, starting five regular season games down the stretch.
Of course, he's most known for the ring he possesses, and that element of his legacy will linger on.
In a vote by his teammates, New Orleans #Saints tackle Jermon Bushrod has been named the Saints’ 2018 Ed Block Courage Award winner, which is given annually to a player from each National Football League team who has persevered through adversity.https://t.co/h5j1exCfdj

Bushrod, a beloved locker room presence, will surely give a heartfelt conclusion to his NFL career while his teammates battle behind him.
